Mary Shen O’Carroll is Director of the Legal Operations at Google, where she is responsible for overseeing key aspects of financial performance management, outside counsel management, systems/tools, and internal operations.
During her tenure at Google, Mary has been recognized by Financial Times in 2019 as a top Legal Intrapreneur, by ABA as 2018 Women of Legal Tech, by Fastcase as a Fastcase 50 award winner in 2017, by the American Bar Association as Legal Rebel in 2016, and by LegalTech News as Legal Department Operations Director of the Year in 2016.
Prior to joining Google, Mary served as Profitability Manager for Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. Earlier, Mary was an investment banker and a strategic management consultant.
Mary is also a passionate leader pushing forward disruptive technology and processes designed to change the future of the legal industry. To support that agenda, she is President of CLOC (Corporate Legal Operations Consortium), a global community focused on redefining the business of law and whose mission is to help legal operations professionals and other core corporate legal industry players optimize legal service delivery models.
